Holos Cookie Policy

Effective August 20, 2026
Holos

This Cookie Policy explains how Holos uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies, exactly what we store on your device, and how to change your choices.

Holos is currently operated by House of IX, LLC d/b/a Origami, an Arizona limited liability company ("Origami," "we," "us," or "our").

It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes everything else we collect and why.

DRAFT, for legal review before publication. Items marked [TO CONFIRM] need a decision or a factual check before this is published.

01

What These Technologies Are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep, and hands back on your next visit.

Holos also uses two related technologies that are not cookies but do much the same job, so we treat them the same way here:

  • Local storage keeps information in your browser until something clears it. We use it for your sign-in session, so you are not asked to log in on every page.
  • Session storage keeps information only until you close that browser tab. We use it for short-lived things, like the help-chat conversation you are part-way through.

On their own these files rarely identify you. Combined with your account, some of them can, which is why the analytics ones are off until you turn them on.

02

How We Use Them

We use cookies and browser storage to:

  • Keep you signed in and move you securely between pages
  • Remember your choices, including your cookie choices themselves
  • Hold on to work in progress, such as a profile form you have not finished
  • Understand which pages and features people use, so we can improve Holos, but only if you accept analytics

We do not use them for advertising, cross-site tracking, or building profiles of you for anyone else. Holos carries no third-party advertising trackers.

03

The Two Categories

The cookie banner offers two categories, and that is the whole set.

Essential. Required for Holos to work at all: signing in, staying signed in, security, and remembering the cookie choice you just made. These cannot be switched off, because without them there is no working site to have a preference about.

Analytics. Off unless you turn them on. These tell us which pages and features get used. See Section 5 for what that involves, including session replay.

You may see other cookie banners describe a third "functional" or "preferences" category. We fold those few items into Essential rather than offering a toggle, because they are small interface memories such as which tile shape you last chose, and because a category you cannot meaningfully decline is not a real choice.

04

What We Actually Store

This is the full list, not a representative sample.

ls-tile-shapeLocal storageEssentialRemembers an interface preferenceUntil browser storage is cleared
holos-welcome-shownSession storageEssentialStops a welcome message repeating within one visitUntil the tab closes

__ph_opt_in_out_...Local storageAnalyticsRecords that you opted in or out of analyticsUntil browser storage is cleared

Durations are the defaults set by the tools that create them and may change if those defaults change.

05

Analytics and Session Replay

If you accept analytics, we use PostHog to see how Holos is used. It records pages viewed and interactions such as clicks, and it may record a session replay: a reconstruction of how you moved through the interface.

Two limits are built in and always on:

  • Everything typed into a form field is masked, so passwords, email addresses and any other typed text are stored as asterisks rather than the characters you typed
  • Private areas such as message threads are excluded from capture entirely

When you are signed in, this activity is linked to your account, including your email address, so that we can understand how members use the platform rather than only counting anonymous visits.

None of this runs until you accept. If you press "Reject All", or never answer the banner, PostHog is not loaded at all.

06

Third-Party Cookies

The only third party that sets anything on your device through Holos is PostHog, and only after you accept analytics.

Other services we use, such as our database and email provider, work server to server and do not set cookies in your browser. Content embedded from elsewhere, such as a video, may set its own cookies under its own policy. [TO CONFIRM: whether any embedded third-party video or scheduling widget is in use on live pages.]

PostHog processes data in the United States. Where information is transferred from the EEA or the UK, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards, as described in our Privacy Policy.

07

Managing Your Choices

In Holos. The cookie banner appears on your first visit. You can change your answer at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the site footer, which reopens the same preferences panel. Turning analytics off stops collection immediately, without a page reload, and clears PostHog's cookies.

In your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Doing that also clears the essential items, so you will be signed out and asked about cookies again.

Blocking essential cookies and storage will prevent parts of Holos from working, including staying signed in.

Rejecting analytics has no effect on your access to Holos, your membership, or any feature.

08

Changes to This Cookie Policy

We will update this policy when the technologies we use change, and revise the effective date above. If a change is material, for example adding a new category or a new third party, we will give reasonable notice through Holos before it takes effect.
